Description

Chikorita, which is the Pokémon illustrated in the foreground of this framed artwork, is painted with pearlescent or iridescent watercolour, making it shine as it reflects light beautifully. The artwork comes framed, as you can see in the pictures, with a white wooden frame. Some of the photos were taken using flash to show the artwork’s shiny property. The main focus is given to the Pokémon; therefore, I wanted to keep the background extremely minimalistic but not plain white, which is the main reason for the choices made here. The background perfectly complements the Pokémon’s colours in every case. The balance between the subject and background creates an overall harmonious feel.
