I’m so happy you’re here!
If you’re thinking we’re just another online shop, let me tell you how we came to be and why we’re special.
During the pandemic, I found myself asking: Is supporting local just a trend, or could it become the new norm? I made it my mission to ensure it’s the latter. With a passion for handmade products, I launched the Instagram account @handmade.in.cyprus in 2021, simply to support and promote local artists, with no grand strategy in mind.
Yet I noticed the surge in ‘supporting local’ aligned with global movements toward sustainability, challenging mass production and fast fashion. These trends—‘shop small’ and ‘slow fashion’—were catching on, but I believe that ‘shop handmade’ is the link that addresses all.
Fast forward three years, after numerous Pop-Up Markets, thousands of followers, and a growing community, we’re here—with our very own curated marketplace dedicated to local handmade products. So, my role is clear, to build Handmade in Cyprus into a thriving, sustainable, and community-centric business, and I know that this can only be done together!
